Taraveeh
Taraweeh (also spelt Tarawih or Taraveeh) is a special prayer that Muslims perform during the month of Ramadan. It is a voluntary additional prayer that is performed after the Isha (night) prayer during the month of Ramadan.
The Taraweeh prayer is a communal prayer that is performed in mosques all around the world. It is led by an Imam, who recites the Quran aloud in a slow and melodious voice. The Taraweeh prayer consists of 20 rak'ahs, with a short break after every 4 rak'ahs.
Taraweeh is not obligatory but is considered a Sunnah. It is a highly recommended act of worship during Ramadan. It was established by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during his lifetime. It is believed that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would perform the Taraweeh prayer in congregation with his companions during the month of Ramadan.
The Taraweeh prayer is an important part of Ramadan for Muslims. It provides an opportunity for Muslims to come together as a community and to recite and reflect upon the Quran. Many Muslims find the Taraweeh prayer to be a spiritually uplifting experience, and it is a time when they feel particularly close to Allah (God).
